Best of the Road: America the Beautiful

Are you a teacher or student in a middle or high school classroom? If so, we'd like to share the news about an exciting contest that is equal parts educational opportunity and fun.

As part of their successful Best of the Road campaign, Rand McNally and USA Today just launched a contest to celebrate what makes America beautiful. Students in grades 7 through 12 have an opportunity to submit an essay describing what makes their country, state, or hometown special, beautiful, and all around the best.

The prizes (for students and teachers alike) are amazing-- trips to Washington D.C., Barnes & Noble Nook tablets, $10,000 for a college savings plan, and the opportunity for published work.

For further contest details, stop by Rand McNally's Best of the Road: America the Beautiful page. The submission deadline is May 14th, so register today! Students, check out this link, and share with your teachers.

Good luck!
